Hidden Treasures, Hilton Head Island.......

While visiting my BF in Statesboro a couple of weeks ago, we went thrifting to one of our favorite places, Hilton Head Island!  I know, thrifting on Hilton Head is not something you would normally think of when you think HHI, but OMG, I'm going to let you in on a little secret!  They have the BEST Thrift stores there, and lots of them!  And, best of all, the cheapest prices ever!  Not only are you in one of the most beautiful places, you get to find cool stuff!  The sad part was we didn't have a lot of room to so we couldn't bring a lot back.  VEry sad!!  Maybe next time, I'll get a truck,  it's that good!  Here are a few of the things I did bring home!

Everything at this store was half priced so that made this tureen only $2.50

These cook books were also half price so they were $1.50 each

Brown transferware platter was $3.00

Candle holder, $1.00

This was $2.00

This was $2.00

 Ironstone platter, $2.00

This little picknic basket, $2.00

Little red bucket,  .50 cents

This was $3.00

Now, I'll show you what we didn't bring home and we were verrrry sad!

Can you guess the price?

This cabinet was fabulous and the price, (don't cry, we did) was only $299.00!
Would it not be gorgeous painted black or white!

This lantern was pretty big, fabulous in a dining room or entryway, looked like it came right out of a Restoration Hardware catalog!  Big difference, it was only $69.00!

Are you as sad as we were?

Till next time.......

Mapquest......

I have loved maps for a long time.  They are interesting, have wonderful colors and shapes.  After my Aunt in Palm Desert CA passed away a few years ago, I was helping my Mom clean out her house and in an old metal cabinet in the stroage room, I found a whole drawer full of old vintage maps from the 60's.  There were old ones of California,  Palm Springs, Orange County and lots more!  My Mom, (she doesn't get it), wanted me to throw them all out!  No Way, they came home with me!  As of yet I have'nt done anything with them, but I did get some great ideas from these photos on pinterest.

Are you inspired?
They have really inspired me!

Now,  all I have to do is figure out where to hang this amazing  map of Nashville I found at the flea!

Till next time......

Favorites Around the House........

I have collected different things for a long time, luckily for me, before most of them got popular and expensive.   Here are some favorites that are around the house!  I love changing things out for fall, winter and summer and am starting to look forward to getting my beachy stuff put away at the end of the month and digging out fall!  But for now,  here are some of the the things that make me happy!

This collection of vintage green kitchen utensils was my first collection which I stared years ago when on of my best friends in WI (where I lived for 3 years) gave me a piece which was her grandmother's.

I love books with out door titles, these are a few of my favs, the Rebecca of Sunnybrook Farms book was given to me by one of our favorite dealers who now has her own fabulous shop in Nolensville TN.
You can check out her blog at  http://www.rosesandrustics.com/

These are just a few of the things  I never get tired of, what about you?

Till next time.....

Cool Blue Beach Living.......

If I could live at the beach, I'd love for my "living" room to look like one of these.  They all look so serene, calm and restful.  I'd be comfortable in any one of them.

This last one is my favorite, I'm in love with this fireplace!

Till next time.....
