Finally.......

I'm so excited! My good friend Brittany of Brittany's Cottage came over today and helped me give my blog a long overdue new look!  I really love it and hope you all like it.  The boots are my Aunt's who passed away quite a few years ago and the hat is one of my old riding hats.  When I was 16, I left my home in Southern CAL to go stay with my Aunt and Uncle outside of Chicago for the summer and learn how to ride at the barn where they kept their horse.  Needless to say, I had the best time of my life!  I spent every day working at the barn, taking care of the horses, cleaning tack, stalls, doing whatever was needed along with taking lessons.  It was a lot of hard, fun, rewarding work and I loved it.  (It didn't hurt that the owner's son was 2 years older and very good looking!)  I went from someone who was afraid to go into a stall with a horse (filled all the water buckets in the stalls with no horses,) to someone who could do about anything.  I learned to ride English, a little jumping and beginning dressage. It would become one of my passions.  I don't have a horse now and sorely miss it.  For some reason, I've been thinking about it a lot lately and would love to get back into it.  There is nothing better or more relaxing then getting on your horse, your best friend, and taking a long ride on a beautiful trail!

(photos by me except one of saddle)

Till next time....

Oh I love it! Just love the photo of the boots and riding hat. Sure wish I had some to display in my great room. Come to think of it, I do have some riding boots. Hmmm, good idea. Thanks

Just beautiful. Love your mantel in previous post too. I rode most of my life but haven't had a horse in about 7 years. I miss it sometimes too. My sore back does not! lol
