Rustic Style......

I'm pretty eclectic in the styles I like,  farmhouse, cottage, rustic, all with a little industrial thrown in. Right now, I'm leaning a lot toward rustic, here are some of my favorite examples from pinterest!  All of these rooms have that little or big something that gives them that "rustic" flair.

A Little Bit More Christmas......

I can't believe we only have 3 more day till Christmas and Santa will be making his rounds!  Here are a few more of my favorite  decorations around the house, heck, all my decorations are my favorites! Isn't that how it's supposed to be?

This year I did something different on the top of my tree.  Instead of our usual woodland angel, I put this little doggie Santa holding his bones up there and love it (this is where he stood till the tree was ready)

I have a large collection of Nutcrackers, these 2 are the Marine and Air Force ones that I got for my sons with my Scottish man peeking out from behind

One of my favorites is the English Rider NC holding his saddle

These are framed vintage photo Xmas cards that I have found over the years,

Another framed favorite Xmas card and 2 hand carved moose

My carved swan decked out with a little wreath and a rusty (hard to see) tin Noel

This little Santa was made by my Mom back in the 60's out of felt and a toilet paper roll

One of my snowmen, after Xmas sale at TJ Maxx  $5.00

Some of the Snowmen and Santas on top of my chippy green cabinet

This Santa and Snowman were the very 1st Christmas decorations I ever bought back in 1970
My daughter thinks the poor snowman is quite spooky! I on the other hand think they are both very sweet!

Don't you just love this Santa picture peeking out from behhind my tree?
It's a Xmas bag that was framed

These are the kid's stockings on the bannister, the tin letters I (love) got after
Christmas at Restoration Hardware on sale, the stocking are from Hobby Lobby after Christmas

Here are a few more things in the kitchen

My sister got me this little moose with all our names on it a few years ago

My vintage Santa and Snowman were great finds at the flea market, $3.00 each

Gingerbread ornaments from Cracker Barrel after Christmas sale
They are sitting on top of my vintage scale, which helps remind them not to eat to much!
(Do you think it will work)?

Kitchen table centerpiece

I  may not post again till Monday after Christmas, all depends on how busy we get around here.  Hope you all have had a wonderful Holiday Season.  Thanks to all of you who visit me, I  love all your sweet comments and the new friends I have made this year!   I really love visiting all your great blogs out there in bloggy land and seeing all your beautiful photos that inspire me to try new things!

PS. tonight I will be getting the best early Christmas prestent, check back tomorrow to see what it is!!
Merry Christmas!

Till next time......

Christmas at Home......

My style for Christmas is more on the rustic side.  As you saw from my mantle, I also like a little sparkle! Usually I keep the sparkle in the dining room but since it is going thru some changes, I tried it on the mantle this year.   My decorating consists mostly of pine cones, greenery, Santas, deers, nutcrackers and snowmen.  This is my "shabby" white cabinet with some of my favorite Holiday decorations.

One of my favorite Xmas photos of the kids when they were small.
Aaron, my AF boy, will be home on Thursday, gets in from Afganistan tomorow!
(He's the one with the dark hair)

These little elves my Mom used to put out at Xmas (way) back in the 60's

My $1.00 tin box from the Watertown yardsale

I got this little primitive Santa at an estate sale here in town a few years ago for $5.00

This deer family I got years ago when my oldest was about the size he is in the above photo, on our way back to NC from visiting the grandparents in GA, we stopped at a outlet mall and he saw them and had to have them, I think the set was around $5.00

My sister got me this for Christmas last year

Just thought you should know, Angie at http://www.knickoftimeinteriors.blogspot.com/ , ( Dec 20), is having a wonderful giveaway from Cutting Edge Stencils.  They have amazing stencils, be sure to check it out!  I've picked out my favorite, a fabulous pine cone on a branch!

Till next time......
