Slim Pickens.....

I don't know how yard sales are going where you all live, but around here, they are pretty slow and mostly have clothes and toys.  Even so, I've managed to find some good stuff.  Here are a few photos of some of the things I've found.  I'll be showing you more later.

These are vintage Tell City, Hitchcock style chairs that I got for $50.00 which is a steal!  Even though the paint is worn, (which I love), they are in excellent shape.  There are 3 side chairs and 1 arm chair.
Since I'm trying not to become a hoarder, (I know my kids would debate that),
they are now in my booth waiting for at new home.

These Christmas things I got at a Church sale.
Since Kate is just starting out in her new home, she doesn't
have a lot of holiday decorations, I think these will be a
good start for her.

This Santa was $1.00

I love books, especially children's books and have a nice collection.
With the new baby coming, I can start a little collection for her, I think this will be a
good one for her 1st Christmas, and, it was only .25cents

This Santa and candle holder was .50 cents,
how cute is this!

Till next time.....
Rebecca

Great old chairs! I love the rush seats and they are in really good condition. Of course the book is one of my favorites. :@

The chairs are a great find! Sales around here are like yours. Clothes and toys. I will screech to a stop though if I see anything Christmas though (don't tell Mr. B. he thinks I have too much now!). Thanks for sharing at the party this week!

Very cool chairs! Sales around here are hit and miss too. Sometimes it pays to do a "drive by" and see if it's all children's clothes and toys or just pure garbage! There was a local garage sale here with over 250 vendors and i got a handful of things. You have to wade through the endless VHS tapes and the vendors selling at retail prices at a garage sale!

You did good in getting those Tell City chairs at that price, worn or not. Any Tell City product is worth its price.

Those chairs are fabulous! Good for you in finding those treasures! I love getting Christmas stuff at garage sales. You can usually deal on the price because it's hard to get rid of those things in the middle of summer.

Rebecca, I so agree yard sales have all but dried up here in my area. But I am liking that chair you found. I am heading out now and I never start this late but it's just not too exciting in all this heat.

Rebecca, love the chairs. Don't know if I would have been able to part with them. Call me a hoarder. lol! Seems like most of our yard sales are just clothes also. Every once in a while I'll find a treasure. Great Christmas items also.

Jann

This heat has me avoiding yard sales like the plague! Even at 7am the humidity is too much! Probably why I haven't even seen that many signs around for sales.

I can't believe that it's already time for Kate to have her baby! This summer is just flying by! I hope her labor and delivery go smoothly on Thursday. I'll be praying for her! And congratulations two days early!!! :o) Don't wait too long to post pictures up here! ;o)
