Getting the boot.....

Cold weather makes me think of sweaters, scarfs, hats and boots.  I especially love boots and would wear them all the time if I could!  Here is my wish list !

After looking at all the above, I guess it's obvious that I gravitate toward the riding boot style and I must really like buckles!

For dressier occasions I like the ones below

My favorite boot model, in her favorite boots!

B Trayed.......

Noooooo, no drama, just a thing for trays!  Wood, woven, metal, silver, it doesn't matter, I love them all!  They can add just the right touch to any display.

Mugged......

This is my last post about coffee, honest, but I did say I would show you the way my daughter Kate and I liked to drink our coffee!  We are mug girls, no little cups for us!

These are her 2 favorites, I got them at the flea market for $1.00 each. It was supposed to be one for each of us, but she let me know real quick that they were both hers!

.

This is her second favorite, came from Hobby Lobby during her zebra print phase!

These 2 are the ones I use almost every day!
Kate got me the red one this year for Christmas.

This is my 3rd choice, came from Cracker Barrel,
love their coffee!

These are the ones we use when all the above are in the dishwasher,
given to me years ago by my brother-in-law! At the time I had 3 pet roosters.

Thanks you guys for all the fun comments on my last post!
It was fun finding out how you all drink your tea and coffee!

Which Is Best........

Do you have a favorite cup you always use when you drink your coffee?
Does it really taste better if you drink it from your favorite cup?
Which do you prefer, cup and saucer or mug?

Mug or cup & saucer?

Next time I will give you a peek at Kate's and my personal
favorites that we use on a daily basis!

Let Me Count The Ways.....

The first thing I think about when I wake up is.........COFFEE!  It's the best part of waking up!  Yeah, I know that's a commercial, but hey,  it is what it is!  The question is, how many ways can you really enjoy Starbucks?
Well, lets see!

You can do it this way......

Or, your can dig deep and go to the wild side and have one of these!

Stay tuned for part 2!

With all the beautiful white snow we've had, it's inspired  me revisit some of my favorite white living rooms and thought you might like them also!

Enjoy!

I'm Nuts for......

As you know from my previous post, my son is back from Europe.  I'm very excited to show you what he brought me for Christmas!   While in Germany, he got me a hand carved nutcracker!  I have collected nutcrackers for years, and was really touched that he remembered that it would be something that would be special to me, and I love it!   I was lucky enough, at Target a couple of years ago to find one in a Air Force uniform and this year, also at Target, I found one in a Marine uniform.  I was really excited to find those for my sons.
Here is my newest nutcracker, all the way from Gremany!!

I couldn't resist taking his picture out in the snow!
Yes, we finally got some, 5 inch's!  It was pretty exciting and so beautiful!  It's very unusual to get this much!  For those of you who live where it snows, you might find this interesting!   Because people here aren't used to driving in snow, just about everything shuts down!  The schools here have been closed since Monday, good for kids, not so good for Moms!  According to the news, there were almost 150 accidents between midnight and 12 noon on Monday!

Home At Last!!!

I'm so excited!  My middle son Aaron just got home last night!  He's been stationed in Lakenheath, England for the last year and a half.  He got back to Raleigh, NC., Wednesday and was met at the airport by his dad, who was there on a business trip,  perfect timing! For the rest of his tour, he will be stationed at Seymour Johnson AF base, outside Goldsboro NC. which is only about a 7 hr drive from here, a lot closer!   While his dad finished up his business, they searched high and low for Aaron's dream truck, found it, purchased it, and then drove home, arriving here late yesterday afternoon!  What was the first thing he wanted to do!  Why, open his Xmas presents of course!  I left up our decorations and had his presents in front of the fireplace. (I didn't put up our big tree this year, with the store closing in Dec and all, it was just to busy.)  He was quite happy with everything "Santa" brought!  I'm so glad he got to experience living in Europe, something a lot of us will never get to do.  He also spent a month temporarily stationed right outside the capitol city of Iceland which he thoroughly enjoyed, he had the best time there!  Some of the other places he got to travel to on leave were Austria, Germany, Italy and Switzerland.  What a lucky boy!
Here are a few of my favorite photos of him.

This is my favorite, taken by the base photographer, (there isn't any glare on my copy, don't know why it shows up here.)  His job is crew chief on fighter jets.

I asked for one of him by one of their famous red phone booths.
Like the good son he is, here it is!

On his trip to Germany

A visit to Stone Henge
(What ever were they doing? At least that's a soda in his hand!)

With the Bobbies in London

At the big soccer game in London last weekend,
a few days before he left to come home

I couldn't resist showing you this one even though it was taken Xmas 2008.
Aaron on left, little sister Kate, now a college freshman, and big brother Chris.  (Chris was still in Marines
at this time but has since finished his 5 year tour and is home.)
