Christmas at Home......

My style for Christmas is more on the rustic side.  As you saw from my mantle, I also like a little sparkle! Usually I keep the sparkle in the dining room but since it is going thru some changes, I tried it on the mantle this year.   My decorating consists mostly of pine cones, greenery, Santas, deers, nutcrackers and snowmen.  This is my "shabby" white cabinet with some of my favorite Holiday decorations.

One of my favorite Xmas photos of the kids when they were small.
Aaron, my AF boy, will be home on Thursday, gets in from Afganistan tomorow!
(He's the one with the dark hair)

These little elves my Mom used to put out at Xmas (way) back in the 60's

My $1.00 tin box from the Watertown yardsale

I got this little primitive Santa at an estate sale here in town a few years ago for $5.00

This deer family I got years ago when my oldest was about the size he is in the above photo, on our way back to NC from visiting the grandparents in GA, we stopped at a outlet mall and he saw them and had to have them, I think the set was around $5.00

My sister got me this for Christmas last year

Just thought you should know, Angie at http://www.knickoftimeinteriors.blogspot.com/ , ( Dec 20), is having a wonderful giveaway from Cutting Edge Stencils.  They have amazing stencils, be sure to check it out!  I've picked out my favorite, a fabulous pine cone on a branch!

Till next time......
Rebecca

Everything looks so warm and cheerful. I like the way you do up your white cabinet for season and holidays. I'm in love with the deer family. I seem to be developing a deer obsession.

Rustic is fine with me, as long as there's red involved--and there is! Merry Christmas!

RED HAT

Red hat, I am lonesome.
Red hat, are you free?
Red hat, please consider
Coming home with me.

I need a companion,
One who’ll warm my head;
I think you’ll do nicely,
Hat of brilliant red.

You’re the warmest color,
Not like blue or green—
Red hat at the vendor’s,
Red hat, you’re my queen.

I am glad to hear your son will be home for Christmas. It was one of the best Christmas we ever had when my daughter came home from Baghdad. Your rustic decorations look great on your cabinet.
