Old Mixed With New

I was just looking at my friend's face book page and saw this,  I loved it so much I had to post it!  Uptown Funk by Bruno Mars is one of my favorite songs. I was turned on to it by my then 2 year old grand daughter, Kailyn, who is  now a big girl of 3.  It and  All about That Bass by Megan Trainor which by the way, is one of the cutest videos ever, are her favorites! We have on demand on our TV and can watch popular music videos when ever we want.  When the songs were over, she would demand, again and again and.......!  She'd dance fast  and furious  till she would
fall to the floor in a dizzy heap!  Watching her trying to shake her
booty and  do the splits like they do in Megan's video, it's a hoot!

My "sassy" little dancer!

I thought I hadn't seen anything better then her dancing, but this video comes pretty close!  Someone  had the genius idea of  mixing some of the greatest dancers from Hollywood's golden age to the song, Uptown Funk.  If you're a tad bit older like me,   I'm sure you'll recognize a lot of them.  For those of you "young things" out there who may not have had the privilege of seeing them in  some of these fabulous movies, here are some of their names :
Shirley Temple
Fed Astaire and Ginger Rogers
Judy Garland
James Cagney
Gene Kelly and the " mouse"
Mickey Rooney
Debbie Reynolds
Danny Kaye
Abbot and Costello

Just click on the links and they will take you to the videos,
make sure you have your volume turned on!

Fred and Ginger
I have loved Fred for as long as I can remember, think he's the greatest dancer
of all times and watch his movies every chance I get!

I'm also posting links to the original Uptown Funk and All About That Bass
because they are Kailyn's and my favorites!
(she also loves to dance to Taylor Swift's Shake It Up video but
that's another story)!

Now let's be honest, did you listen to this song without moving
or did it get you rocking in your seat?
PS.  It just won a Grammy for song of the year!

Here's Megan Trainor's  All About The Bass

Megan

PS. Megan just won a Grammy
for New Artist of the Year

I hope you had as much fun with this as I did !

Till next time.......

Uptown Funk is one of my favs, too. I never get tired of hearing it which leads to car dancing, kitchen dancing, all kinds of dancing! Go ahead and shake that booty, little cutie. <3
I like MT songs, too. :)

Oh yes, I must watch both! I love watching kiddo's dance. It's one of the cutest things! Our 3 year old grandson loves, 'It's the best day of my life'. He dances to it and the other day my dil posted a video of him banging it out on the piano. Of course he can't play, but it was pretty darn cute! Thanks for sharing with SYC.
hugs,
Jann

Your granddaughter is adorable.

I really enjoyed watching the old movies put to Uptown Funk. I remember some of the movies, but not the names.

Thanks so much for sharing this at SYC.
