Johnny's character on the show was rugged, (who doesn't look good in a tight pair of jeans and a cowboy hat), hardworking, polite, always tried to do the right thing, could ride a horse, was kind of shy when it came to the girls, and, a all around good guy.
Paul, starred on the Donna Reed show which was more in our time. He was a kakie pants and button up shirt kind of guy, which, don't get me wrong, is also very appealing. His character was sweet in a goofy kind of way, always in and out of trouble, (nothing serious) with his Mom and Dad, often annoying to his big sister. As he got older, he was more into getting his driver's license, dating girls and hanging out, but also a good guy.
As both stars older, they put out records and were on the covers of all the in teen magazines at the time. It's kind of interesting if you think about it, how different times were then, they never made headlines for drinking or drugs, never got arrested for drunk driving, never wore their pants down around their knees, and always wore their shirts. Quite a change from the star antics of today. So......for those of you who remember, which one made your heart throb, Johnny or Paul?

Before my time, Rebecca...but I'll go for the cardigan wearing boy!
I didn't watch either of those shows, but my girlfriends and I were in love with Davey Jones. :)
It's a crazy world we live in now.
I definitely liked westerns in the 60's and loved the Rifleman. As I recall I had a crush on Johnny Crawford because I loved those cowboys. I was in grade school in the 60's and I loved Johnny's soft spoken style and his relationship with his Pa, Chuck Connors. I could tell they had a special bond. I forgot he was a Mouseketeer! Such cute pictures! Thanks for sharing!
That was back in my day, I wasn't to crazy about the cowboys I guess.
I did like the Lone Ranger , I thought he was handsome in his tight pants and mask LOL
then I fell for Elvis !!!!!!!!!!
I think I would have been smitten by Johnny. I love AMC. Lynaea @ <a href="http://everydaybloom.com/in-the-pink-apron/
I'm with Vickie - Davey Jones was TOO dreamy! Peter Tork had a goofy kind of cute too. But if I had to pick, I'd go for the rifleman's son. Can you imagine what any of those characters would be doing in today's television? Scary...
I love these shows and Johnny the hubby and I watch everyday. Good old shows.
I remember watching the Rifleman with my dad when I was younger...I probably had a lil crush on him even though it was before my time ;)
How are you and your precious grandbaby?
