My turkey collection is not all that big but is just enough to give me that feeling of Thanksgiving. Some of them live on the fireplace, the rest roost in my chippy cabinet, and the one known as "the big turkey" spends all of his time on the kitchen table. Most of them are vintage, a few are not, all were bought for "thrifty" prices or on sale. All my other fall decorations have been put up to make way for Christmas. Since I'm not working this year, I plan on starting early so I can take my time and enjoy it without feeling stressed or rushed! Sounds good, right!
I picked up this pine cone back in the 70's on a weekend trip with my parents and sister to
Lake Arrowhead , California.
This is the turkey, affectionately known by my kids as "the big turkey". He is not vintage,
was bought at Cracker Barrel a few years ago. I fell in love with his colors and was lucky
enough to be able to get him on sale!
Till next time......
Rebecca

They do have a goofy charm, don't they? I especially like the pair on The Field Second Reader.
Rebecca, that is a wonderful display! I love it. Can't believe you held onto that pinecone for so long.
I'm so glad you posted these pictures. It reminded me that I have a chicken ( close enough for me ) that belonged to my Baba that I need to unwrap and display.
What a great assortment of Turkeys. I love that big pine cone and I can't believe it has lasted that long!
I bought turkey S&P shakers from GoodWill a few years back but seeing your post makes me want to find some more turkeys for my china cabinet. On the hunt now...oh, maybe that wasn't the best choice of words!
So nice decoration in the cabinet, i´ve never seen so many lovely turkeys before.
Happy week
Hugs
AnnaMaria
All your turkeys look great! I especially love the "big" turkey on your table. He is quite pretty!
Gosh, that is the best pine cone I have ever seen. I do not have one turkey and if I did I would have no place for him:(
Hi Rebecca,
That is some good looking turkeys you have there! Love them displayed in that old chippy white cabinet...
Great collection!
All the Best,
Christine
You have a wonderful collection of turkeys. I do that the Big Boy!
I meant to say I do like that Big Boy!
LOVE your turkey collection and the beautiful way you display them! The HUGE pine cone is terrific!
Thanks for linking up to Knick of Time Tuesday - you make the party more special!

Rebecca, wow, what a great turkey collection!! Love the way you displayed them all...what great treasures!
I love the whole display, the books are a wonderful touch! By the way, you have piqued my interest in vintage riding helmets. I recently found one at a tiny thrift store near me and when I asked the price, $10! I was a little tight on cash so when I went back a week later I asked the same guy about it again, and suddenly the price was $20! I was so disappointed, especially because I thought I bonded with the shop owner, major bummer! Maybe if I visit him again he will change his mind!
A Nice array of turkeys there. Love that pinecone. Pat
Great collection of turkeys, I think they are so hard to find, and you do have some beauties. Your display is lovely. Thanks for joining TTT. Hugs, Marty
Rebecca!

Love your turkeys!
Love how you have old books displayed in your Thanksgiving vignettes - very pretty! Love that pinecone, too!
Your collection of turkeys is beautiful. I have a huge collection of bird figurines but now I realize that I need to get a turkey!:) I am a new Follower of your Blog from the Creative Princess Party. Take care and have a good Thursday.
You have everything decorated so beautifully! That huge pine cone is awesome!
Very nice collection. I just have one pair of turkey salt and pepper shakers but I do enjoy putting them out this time of year. I have lots of pine cones sprinkled about and those are fun too. Happy Thanksgiving.

Your collection has very special designs, each more attractive than the other...thanks for sharing them!

I love the turkey's Rebecca! As usual, you certainly know how to display everything. Wanna come help me? Happy Thanksgiving if I don't talk to ya before then.
You have a wonderful collection and I love the way you've displayed them. "Big Turkey" is so pretty, and I can see why you fell in love with him. I'm glad you are enjoying the holidays, and can't wait to see what you do for Christmas.
Thanks for sharing your vintage turkeys. It's fun to have a focus like that to look for when you are out and about. One never knows when you'll come across another one. ;-)
Happy Thanksgiving! ~ Sarah
Oh, I love them all, especially the salt and pepper! great collection. And that's one huge pinecone!
What a charming and admirable collection you have! I was lucky to find a pair of vintage turkey decorations (tom and hen) from occupied Japan last year for a song. I was so happy to be able to bring them out this year for my fall and Thanksgiving decoration!
Take care,
