A Wonderful Surprise......

I was surprised and excited to receive the Versatile  Blogger award from 3 ladies whose blogs I love and admire very much,  Devon from Ironstone and Pine, Erin from White Whimsy, and Revi from Revisonary Life.!  Their blogs are fabulous and I feel so lucky that they each thought of me!
Take a minute and give them a visit, I know you will love them too!

The rules of this award are:
Thank and link back to the person who gave you the award
Share 7 things about yourself that others might not know
Send it to 15 other bloggers and let them know you have awarded it to them
Now comes the hard part, 7 things......

1.  I lived in a haunted,  farmhouse in the country in NC for 10 years, not scary! ( My In-laws never spent a night in our house, they always stayed in a hotel)!
2.  I learned to ride when I was 16 and raised and trained  my half Arab gelding.
3.  I am still best friends with m 7th grade BF, she was just here 2 weeks ago visiting with her husband from CA.  (They are the best house guests, they bring their own house and park it in my driveway)!

4.  I'm from the Orange County CA,  before it was known as the OC, lived there till my early 30's when I moved to Concord, NC, from there, did a short 3yr stint in Green Bay WI, (loved it there and no, they don't all wear cheese head hats) then back to Nashville TN. where I will happily be staying!

5.  I have a younger sister who lives in Yorba Linda CA, we grew up water skiing every summer weekend.
6.  I had my first son, ( an ex marine) when I was 36,  my second son ( serving his last year in the Airforce)  at 39 and my daughter ( a sophmore in college) my last, when I was 41.
(no counting on fingers to try and figure out how old I am)!
7.  This will really date me  but I was on the TV show The Dating Game when I was 18.  I think it was the first show of it's kind back in the......!   I got to ask the questions as goofy as they were, (they wrote them), picked bachlor #1, went to dinner in Hollywood at a famous resturant, at the time, The Coconut Grove.  Saw a preformance by Eddie Fisher, you know who that is right, married to Debbie Fisher, stolen by her best friend, Elizabeth Taylor, Princess Laya's father? If you don't, just ask your Mom, she'll know! (I hope)!
I am sending this award to:

OMG, I used to love watching the dating game with my brother. We would crack up. I wish you had a video! I am so honored you would pick me as a favorite and offer this award. I do have a badge on my blog though stating it is an award free blog. I decided to do that from the start. Please know I appreciate the nomination so much and your friendship even more! xoxo

I used to love the Dating Game. I always wondered where those silly questions came from. Thank both of your sons for their service to our country. My oldest has been in the Army National Guard for 3 years now. So far he hasn't been deployed. Thank you so much for stopping by and for your much appreciated award.

Jackie, send me another phone number for The Gathering Show, I've left messages, then my email got hacked and they took all my email addresses and cleaned it out...try cabinonriver@att.net.

I love things like that! And......the dating game?? I kinda sorta remember that?? Anyhoo, very interesting. Go and check your e-mail, I am about to send you my agenda for the week-end.

Congrats dear friend! You surely deserved this!!! And I loved reading these little tidbits about you! :) Yes, I know about the Coconut Grove, only bc my hubby told me about the history of it, one night a few yrs ago when we were on our way to his yearly work holiday party (in which that year was held @the Beverly Hilton). I think I saw it on our way there! Anyway, I hope you had a lovely weekend! Take care and enjoy your new week!

Hugs,
Jessie
