Queen of the Roost......

Let me introduce you to the ruler of our household!  Her name is Jenny and she's 8 years old.  She is very persnickety and doesn't give her affections lightly.  For the longest time she would have nothing to do with anyone other than Kate, (8 years to be exact) we were snubbed on a continual basis,  only paid attention to if the "bowl" was empty.   If she  even thought one of us was going to "touch" her, what we got for our efforts was a long hiss and a turn of the head.  When Kate moved out and was unable to take her, boy did things change!  She found out in a hurry which side her bread was buttered on!  It was like Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde, only the "nice" side came out, she loves, well maybe I won't go that far, but likes us all!  It has taken Kate a little bit of time to get over the fact that she is no longer the center of "Jenny's World"!  Kate has just moved back in and we are all keeping our fingers crossed that Jen won't "turn" on us and that "Mrs. Hyde" is gone for good!

I am linking up to DebbieDoos Pet Party today stop by and check out all the furrie babies!

Notice the giraffe? When we brought her home as a kitten, we gave her this to keep her company.
Till this day, she carries it everywhere, needless to say, we have found it in some very strange places!

Till next Time.......

What a beautiful kitty! I want a cat so desperately, but I have a little terrier that definitely doesn't like cats. Also, my oldest daughter is allergic. Perhaps someday...

Rebecca she is gorgeous! She's royalty! :-) Love her eyes. Cats have such amazing personalities, don't they?? I really want to get a cat, but where I will be living is close to a road and I'd worry so much. I am thinking of getting hitting the pound and getting a couple barn kitties, though! There is nothing like being around a barn and having kitties hanging out with you.

So wonderful! Cats are funny like that, they can be totally devoted to just one person and then suddenly change totally. Our old female has also became more friendly these last years - before we were barely allowed to touch her.

Nothing makes a home feel more welcoming than a cat. ;-)

Aaaah!! What a sweetie. That girls got cattitude!!! And that's so utterly sweet that she loves the giraffe so much. I've not heard of cats doing that before. How lovely!

Jenny is just beautiful! Sounds a little bit smart too. Can't believe that she has had the same toy for 8 years. Sophie does good to keep one for 8 days! Sooo glad you and Jenny joined the party.

And some people say animals don't have minds of their own!I think those people have never had a pet. I love the whole carrying around of the giraffe, that's so cute!

I have the same thing with my daughter who is away at school's cat. He loves her.... and actually loves me but is always trying to kill me. He can be really affectionate and then attack all in the same moment. I have to close my door at night for fear he will attack while I am sleeping! A definite Jekyl and Hyde personality.

Hi Rebecca! You're right, we DO have a lot in common!! Just checking your blog i see a beautiful cat, and riding boots in your header......and then all the flea marketing, can i come with you next time?!! I don't get a chance to do too much of that anymore, our best venue shut down a couple years back...and hey, I also have this thing about Nashville, I LOVE it, my hubby took me there for my past b-day weekend and I had a blast! OK, know i can't take up all the space here, but let's hook up blog style, Im just learning but so far so good, and every day i get a little bit more addicted! ~devon :)

She's absolutely lovely! No wonder she's the Queen of the Roost...just LOOK at that bea-u-ti-ful face. It's a shame someone doesn't make tiaras for kitties, because she certainly looks as though one would perch upon her head, perfectly.

Hi, visiting from Laura's post of the month club. Your gorgeous cat looks like a fluffy version of my boy cat. He also adores my daughter and will follow her around and sleep outside her bedroom door to look after her. Aren't they funny creatures?
