Fall Stitches......

Fall is finally arriving here in TN!  The weather is getting cooler and the days are getting that crisp, clear, sunny look that is so energizing!  Love it!  Here's a look at one of my favorite things, a pillow I cross stitched years ago to welcome fall.   When I lived in Green Bay WI, I found a fabulous x-stitch shop which was owned by a wonderful woman named Robin who has since passed away.  When I found her little place, I had just moved there and knew no one.  When she saw where I lived, she told me she had a customer who had also just moved here and lived on my street.  She then proceeded to call her and hand me the phone.  Needless to say, "Judy" and I made plans to meet and became best friends.  We both loved to cross stitch and she was also a fabulous quilter.  Robin would open her shop twice a week at night and women could come for a couple of hours and stitch, shop and just have fun.  It was a blast and some of my best memories were made there, stitching away with friends!  I have to tell you this, I thought it was hysterically funny!  The Fox River runs thru the middle of Green Bay and there are bridges  for crossing back and forth all thru town.  Green Bay is not that big and shopping and restaurants are all over  both sides.  One of the first things people would ask when you met is "where do you live"?  When I'd tell them, they'd say "oh, I NEVER go on that side of the River"!  That just cracked me up, I couldn't imagine how they couldn't because it's basically like crossing the street!   I loved living there,  WI is a beautiful and wonderful place, a very well kept secret!   Go Packers!!  Just a example of what it's like,  the police cruzed  the neighborhoods and passed out GB Packer football cards to all the kids!

S Stands for....

Scales and stools, can one person ever have enough?  I've pretty much decided I've got an addictive personality disorder!  Once I "fall" for something, I can't seem to stop!   Luckily for me, I have good friends who every once in while will put their heads together and pull and "intervention".   As far as kitchen stools go, I was able to stop at 2.  Every once in a while, I do go thru intense cravings, but, so far have managed to resist temptation even though I know it will be a lifelong battle!  A while back, I showed you my green
one, now, here is my paint spattered red one, along with one of my favorite red and white scales.    (Unfortunately, where scales are concerned, I was not able to stop at 2)!!

I confess, I am a rust lover!
This scale was only $5.00 at a yard sale

This stool was left over at an auction. I was driving by and
saw it sitting in the yard as they were cleaning up, stopped and asked
if it was for sale and price,  $1.00, yeah, that's right, only $1.00!
They didn't want to haul it off!  My lucky day!

You can barely see them, but there are blotches
of my favorite green color paint
splattered  on the back.

P.S. couldn't resist adding this pic of Kailyn,
1 week old, and, yes, I am obsessed!

Till next time......

Kailyn Grace.....

As some of you guys know, I  have not been posting as much this summer because we'v been busy getting ready for a new little arrival!  She arrived on Thursday and boy did she come in a hurry!  Kate went in at 5am and was told she wouldn't be having her for 10 to 12 hours.  Once they got everything ready to go, that little girl came out in 2 pushes!  I was supposed to get there around 10am or so but got a call at 9:40 saying I had 10min maybe to get there!  So, you know I missed it, got there 5min after!  Both are healthy and happy. She weighed in at 6lbs 5ozs and was 19".  She's such a itty  bitty little thing, her head is about the size of a baseball and she's long and skinny!  She's going to be a tall one if she grows into those feet  (both her parents are tall) and  of course I think she's adorable!

Here's Kate the day before,  ( I sure didn't look like that  at 9 months)!
