I Won.....

I'm finally able to get it together to tell you all about how lucky I was to win a fabulous giveaway! If you haven't visited Tina at What We Keep, you are missing out! She is as sweet as she can be and her blog is wonderful! She's also getting ready to open an etsy store which I'm sure will have a lot of her amazing embroidered things for sale!  Next time you are out browsing around, give her a visit or just click on the link at the end of this post, you won't be sorry!  Now, on to what I won!  A few weeks before Christmas she was giving away a beautiful embroidered apron with a Christmas motif and 2 hot pads  made out of a  brown linen type fabric.  It  came  with red or blue stripes and you could pick which you wanted.  I picked the red since my colors are red, olive greens and browns.   Then came the snag!  A couple of weeks went by and I never got it so I e-mailed her back to find out if and when she had mailed it!  Well, she had mailed it right away and  since neither one of us had gotten it, it we "assume" it's lost in that big "mailbag in the sky"!   She asked me if I wanted something different on it since the holidays were over so I opted for a monogram of my initials.  It arrived shortly after that and, boy did I get a surprise! Not only had she sent me a beautiful monogrammed apron, she also sent me the one with the original Christmas motif and not 2 but 4 hot pads and the sweetest little white square embroidered with a darling bird carrying a envelope with a heart on it!  They are beautiful and I know you all will agree!  Now, just because I have 2 amazing aprons, don't expect me to cook any more then I have to!  (I'll just wear them around the house, they will so make me look like I know what I'm doing in the kitchen)!  When I'm not wearing them, they will be hanging on the side of my cabinet looking gorgeous!

Don't ya just love them!!
Give Tina a visit and tell her I sent you!

Till next time......

Puppy Love.....

One of my favorite things to collect is dog figurines.  I'm really trying to be particular when adding to my collection cuz I'm so running out of room!  (I'm sure you all know how that is)!  These 3 are my favorites, they sit on top of my chippy green armoire in the family room.

They are all thrifty finds that I was lucky enough to come across.
The small one was $5.00, the one on top of the box was $7. 00 and the large one was marked down from $35.00 to $20.00.

Till next time......

The 3 Cs...

No, I'm not talking vitamins!  I have a confession, I'm a coffeeholic and I'm not ashamed to admit it!   Yes, I have to have it the minute I get up in the morning!  And, no, I'm not one of those people who can stop at just one!  I have two,  three, and sometimes even four that's right, sometimes four cups!  Am I an addict?  Do I need rehab?  Should I be sent to one of those places that keep you there for weeks and months,  make you go cold turkey and give you heavy duty therapy?   Nah....I can stop any time I want, right....!  Isn't that what "they" say?  C #2, an essential part of the experience,  the perfect mug or cup.  I'm a mug girl and have 2 that I use that just seem to make it better.  What is C #3 you ask, why, cupcakes of course!!  I'm not much of a "cake" eater, but a cupcake, now that's just the  right amount of cake for me.   Is there anything better then a great cup of jo and a cupcake??  ( well, maybe pie but that's another story)!

Here are my 2 favorite mugs

George Jones' Neighborhood......

Since I've been "under the weather" this week and havent' gotten anything new to post,  I went back thru my photos and found the ones I took last fall of the neighborhood that country super star George Jones lives in.   It's right outside of Franklin TN and only has about 3 streets.  All the homes are set on minimum acre lots, most of them on more.  The only bad thing is that his home sets way back and has a lot of trees in front so you can't really see his house, just the entrance.  In the winter it's much more visible.
(Sorry these aren't the best photos, but you get the idea)

It's kind of hard to tell but those are music notes on the gate

There is a bronze horse on each side of the stone columns

(This photo of his house is from the web)

George Jones' Home

Here are some other houses around the neighborhood

This next house was kind on interesting.  Their design style was different to say the least.  In front, there is a  rose garden surrounded by a stone wall with 2 large lions on each side, a fountain in front of that and then on the side of the property, another pond with a fountain and a mermaid standing on her head!

Here's a close up of one of the lions and his "ball"(?)

She's standing on her head because......?

Ok, this was kind of weird, I don't know if any of you had ever had this happen, but after I took the picture of the house below and had moved down the street to take pics of the house above, a car flew up next to me and the woman driver rolled down her window and demanded to know if I took a pic of her house and why.
Needless to say I was caught off guard and just said "a because I liked it".  She sat there for a minute and then drove off back to her house.  That's her car in the driveway.

Makes me wonder what that was all about, did she think a was a spy, a private eye, or maybe a black mailer?  That's her car in the driveway.   At least she didn't shoot me or anything!

Till next time......
