Sleeping Beauty.....

There is no doubt that Sleeping beauty was beautiful,

if I recall correctly, her bed was not so beautiful!

Sure, it has a canopy, but no soft pillows, no big, fluffy comforter and it looks hard as a rock!
Maybe, if she had been slumbering away peacefully in one of these beautiful beds under this beautiful bedding, she might not have been so anxious for her handsome Prince to come! ( Hey, who am I kidding, we all know  I'd, I mean she'd take the Prince any day  and the sooner the better!
I'm pretty sure any one of these would have made the waiting a little easier!

Sleep Tight!
May your prince come tonight!

Living Vicareously......

We were picked!  Well, not really but in a round about way!  When we had our store, one of our favorite dealers brought in a fabulous old shoe shine chair to sell in her booth  A few weeks later, one of our customers came in and bought it to use in the movie that was filming in Nashville about Billy Graham's life.  She is a really cool girl with a cool job.  She has a big old warehouse out in a little town that she fills with unique and unusual things that she then  uses as props for country music videos and movies.  Leanne Rimes and Keith Urban were just a couple of stars who made videos out there.   When part of the warehouse was used as a antique mall, run by her mom, we went out there a few times, we even got to sit on the couch that was in the Leanne Rimes videol!  A couple of weeks ago, they showed an episode of American Pickers that was filmed here in TN and they went out to her place and bought the shoe shine chair! How fun is that!  Here is a picture of it when it was in our store.

Sorry it's a little blurry, I had to enlarge it!  So, does this mean
 that we were picked?

Till next time.....

The Unexpected....

I was very excited to come home from my weekend trip and find something that I never really thought I would see!
Sheri, from the lovely blog, The Simasek-Kibler Project, (thesimasek-kiblerproject.blogspot.com),  was gracious enough to award me with the Stylish Blogger Award!

I'm very honored that when deciding who she was going to give this to, she thought of me!
Thanks so much Sheri!

Now, I'm supposed to tell you 7 things about myself you might not know.

1.  One of my very favorite places to go when I visit my family in Southern CA is Disneyland and when my sister and I go, we always close it down!

2.  I love action and thriller movies. Arnold, Steven, Bruce, Will Smith etc., I watch them over and over!   Some of my very favorites are, True Lies with the Arnold, Taken, with Liam Neesom, Enemy of the State and I Robot with Will Smith, just to name a few.

3.  I've been riding horses since I was 16 and always wanted to prepare and enter endurance races through the mountains with my half Arab gelding but never did.

4,  I love everything about the beach except swimming.  For that, I am a die hard pool person.  Nothing better then laying on a float with a cool drink in hand and knowing there is NOTHING BENEATH you!

5.  I am in love with classic cars from the 60's and someday would love to own one or two or...........

6.  I am originally from the O.C., yeah, Orange County, California, it wasn't famous back then!  I lived there most of my life till in my early 30's when I moved to Charlotte, North Carolina, and have loved and lived in the south ever since except for a short 3 year stint in Greenbay WI. (Loved it there also, and. no, not everyone there wears a cheese head hat)!

7.  This may date me, and it was probably before most of you guys time, but I was on the T.V. show,
The Dating Game. I got to ask the questions, goofy as they were, picked bachelor #1 and went on a date to the famous, at the time, restaurant, in Hollywood, The Coconut Grove and saw Eddie Fisher.  You do know who that is right?  (Married to Debbie Reynolds, stolen by and married to Elizabeth Taylor, Princess Laya's father)?

Next, I am supposed to pass the award forward to 7 new blogs I have found and love to follow and link to them.  The only problem with that is, I am very computer challenged, lucky to just be able to blog, so I will give you their names and their blog address and you will have to type them in but, I promise you, they are worth going to visit! They are all wonderful, inspiring, and lots of fun!  So, here goes!

Please visit:

Emily at  Senseless Sophistication  (http://www.senselesssophistication.blogspot.com/)
Heather at  Love and Life at Leadora  (http://www.loveandlifeatleadora.blogspot.com/)

Renee at  Sharps Farm  (http://www.sharpsfarm.blogspot.com/)
Ginger at  A Prairie Girl Farm  (http://www.aprairiegirlfarm.blogspot.com/)

I know it's a pain to not be able to just click on them and go, but I do hope you will visit each and every one of them!
The rules of the award are that you have to thank the person who gave it to you, and link back to them, share 7 things about yourself that we might not know and then pass the award on to 7 new blogs that you have found and love and then let each of them know you have given them the award.

Till next time,

Lost in Space.....Or Atlanta

No, as embarrassing as it is,  just lost in Atlanta!  OK, I'll start at the beginning!  Every February for the past 4 years, my sister has flown in from California  because this is when we get together and go to Woodstock GA for my niece's softball tournament.  She has been a starter for the Mercer University softball team since she was a freshman.  Let me preface this with the fact that I have been going to and thru Atlanta for the last 20 years, have driven to KY, NC, across the country, etc, but, somehow this time we were not able to find our way from the fields in Woodstock, the same fields every year, to our hotel in Alpharetta,  ( about 30 mins away)  to save our lives!  I'm sure by now you are asking yourselves, haven't they heard of that little thing called  a GPS?  The sad answer to that question is, YES, we did have one and I guess you Really  are supposed to GO where the LADY tells you to Go!  Why that was so hard for us, I don't know but apparently, it was!  Honestly, we thought she was very bossy, uppity and a bit confused, could she have been out to late the night before and had a bit too much, you know, (?) or, maybe she just didn't like us, because every time we put in our destination, SHE told us to Go a Different Way!  We went over the river, thru the woods, even into Atlanta, and we did see a lot of interesting things,  just not the softball fields!  The good news is that by the last game on Sunday, we finally gave up and did what SHE said and we were actually Early and got a standing ovation from our team's parents!  The whole weekend was one screwy thing after another! ( Lucy, Ethel, where are you)!   I will only give you one more example of the goof ups and all the rest will as they say, What happens in Georgia, stays in Georgia!  On Saturday night, we were following the team bus back to where the girls were staying to spend some time with my niece till her curfew.  The bus pulled into the hotel and circled around back.  We parked in front and went in and up to the third floor to wait for her outside her room.  Well, we waited and waited and then the phone rang! Amanda wanted to know where we were and we told her outside her door.  We couldn't figure out how she got there before us but she said the door was open and to come in. We tried the door, not open, she said it was and to try again.  Then she said What Hotel Are You In?  Thank goodness the door didn't open!  Wouldn't you know it, we were in the wrong one!  When we thought the bus circled around to park in the back, it just cut through the parking lot to go to the hotel behind instead of turning on the street next to both hotels and going in that way.  Was he deliberately trying to fake us out or what?  Other then all the LITTLE mishaps, we had a great time, weather was pretty good and they played well, won 3 out of 5 games.  Here are some photos of my niece at the game in Woodstock and Mercer in Macon.  It is a beautiful campus with some wonderful old buildings.  We didn't have a whole lot of time to take pictures but here are a few.  When I download pics from my other camera from previous trips, I will show you more of campus and some of the beautiful homes and buildings in Macon where Mercer is located.  Wow, this post is a lot longer then I had planned! I sure didn't make a long story short, just long!

Basket Case......

Most of the time I think I'm pretty sane but there may be some who disagree!  ( You know who you are)!  I don't know if they would go so far as to say that I'm a basket case, ( a little wacky maybe)  but then again,  you never know!  For now, we'll just leave that up for debate!  In the meantime, decorating with baskets can add a lot to your decor not only coming in handy for storage, but can also hide a whole lot of clutter!

Till next time......

P.S. I will be out of town till Monday night with no compter!
Hope I don't have with drawels!
