Goodies from the Goodwill

I try to make it to our local Goodwill a couple of times a week and usually find a few little things.  Ours is not the best, there is rarely any furniture and and not many good small things.  VERY SAD!  One of the reasons I think is because in our Lowe's parking lot, there is a large trailer, (tractor trailer size) that takes donations for the goodwill.  It's in a convenient location and is always loaded with stuff! Unfortunately, the thing most people don't know it that it all goes to Nashville, not our store, which means ours is sorely lacking!  Here are a few of my latest finds.

This little lettuce bowl and plate was $3.99

Ironstone pitcher, $1.99

Owl, .99 cents

Turkey $1.99

Owl picture,  $2.99

Rooster plate.  $ 1.99

Pitcher,  99cents

Child's portrait in gold frame,  $6.99
(who could give this up)?

New frame,  99cents

Turkey napkin holder,   99cents

Little tea pot,  99cents

Candle holder, (candle is mine),  $1.99

Till next time.....
Rebecca

  8. Oh no! I had no idea that truck took things to Nashville! How did you find that out? That's where I've been donating since we moved here b/c it's so much closer than the actual Goodwill. Guess I'll have to start making the drive out to the actual store. Not that anything I donate is as cool as the stuff you picked up...

  9. Rebecca,
I think you made out quite well with all the goodies that you got!
I know that Goodwill and Salvation Army here will collect itmes that are then taken to large distribution centers and then taken to all the different stores in a 20 mile radius. I have a friend that worked for Salvation army and she told me that that is usually how they do it.
I go to a local thrift store, Volunteer's of America and what you donate to that store, stays at that store.

    Hugs,
    Deb

  10. I think you found some treasures for sure. Can't go wrong with an ironstone pitcher, and that lettuce bowl looks great in front of those cookbooks. Plus that little picture of the child, priceless.

  11. Hi Rebecca, I think you did great! I'd love to find an ironstone pitcher for 1.99!! The little owl is adorable, and this Thanksgiving a lot of folks will be sad they passed those turkeys up. Thank you so much for linking with us, we always love having you!
