Cabinet Redo...Kind of..

Decorating my chippy white cabinet for the different holidays and seasons is something I enjoy doing.  My Halloween decor is put up and this is kind of how it will look till I get out my Christmas decorations.
Even though it's still a work in progress,  I'm going to show it to you before it's finished, because, right now, it's all I've got!   I'm not totally happy with it and will be doing some serious tweaking.

My favorite child's riding hat, $15.00 from my old store

The platter is a piece of my favorite china by Johnson Bros. called Harvest Time.
I got a amazing deal but that's a story for another post!
Velvet pumpkin, Marshall's, $4.95

Deer family figurine, $3.00 from dealer at my old store

Duck decoy,  $5.00 from my old store

Small wooden shoe form,  $2.00 from the flea

Puppy planter,  $2.00

Halloween at Home......

Here are some of my favorite things that get brought out for Halloween.  Most everything was bought from thrift stores, on sale or at garage sales.  Finding things like that make it a lot more fun for me.

This is one of my favoite x-stitch pieces

When I lived in WI, I had a very talented friend, she could do anything!
We had a lot of fun doing crafts.  This, and the ghost in the seed packet
below are just of a couple of things that we made.

This is one of my favorite photos of the kids ready for some treats, hopefully no tricks!
Frame, $2.00 at yard sale

Got this from my junk girl in my old store and love it!
Mr. Bones comes out every year!
$  3.00

My little orange, $7.00 scale works perfect for Halloween!

I always chage out my s&p shakers and spoon dish on my stove for the seasons and holidays

Banner,  $3.00 at my old store

This is my Halloween!

Till next time......

A Wonderful Surprise......

I was surprised and excited to receive the Versatile  Blogger award from 3 ladies whose blogs I love and admire very much,  Devon from Ironstone and Pine, Erin from White Whimsy, and Revi from Revisonary Life.!  Their blogs are fabulous and I feel so lucky that they each thought of me!
Take a minute and give them a visit, I know you will love them too!

The rules of this award are:
Thank and link back to the person who gave you the award
Share 7 things about yourself that others might not know
Send it to 15 other bloggers and let them know you have awarded it to them
Now comes the hard part, 7 things......

1.  I lived in a haunted,  farmhouse in the country in NC for 10 years, not scary! ( My In-laws never spent a night in our house, they always stayed in a hotel)!
2.  I learned to ride when I was 16 and raised and trained  my half Arab gelding.
3.  I am still best friends with m 7th grade BF, she was just here 2 weeks ago visiting with her husband from CA.  (They are the best house guests, they bring their own house and park it in my driveway)!

4.  I'm from the Orange County CA,  before it was known as the OC, lived there till my early 30's when I moved to Concord, NC, from there, did a short 3yr stint in Green Bay WI, (loved it there and no, they don't all wear cheese head hats) then back to Nashville TN. where I will happily be staying!

5.  I have a younger sister who lives in Yorba Linda CA, we grew up water skiing every summer weekend.
6.  I had my first son, ( an ex marine) when I was 36,  my second son ( serving his last year in the Airforce)  at 39 and my daughter ( a sophmore in college) my last, when I was 41.
(no counting on fingers to try and figure out how old I am)!
7.  This will really date me  but I was on the TV show The Dating Game when I was 18.  I think it was the first show of it's kind back in the......!   I got to ask the questions as goofy as they were, (they wrote them), picked bachlor #1, went to dinner in Hollywood at a famous resturant, at the time, The Coconut Grove.  Saw a preformance by Eddie Fisher, you know who that is right, married to Debbie Fisher, stolen by her best friend, Elizabeth Taylor, Princess Laya's father? If you don't, just ask your Mom, she'll know! (I hope)!

Fall, Can't Get Enough......

Here are some more photos of  "fall" around the house!

The pheasant is the one we had in our store and now lives at my house next to "Gordy", a very large gourd that I got a couple of years ago from a fabulous dealer at the Gathering Show, located at the Nashville fairgrounds.  It's coming up the weekend of November 4th and 5th.  It's not the largest show, but if you get a chance to go, it's a lot of fun and they always have the best stuff!

Fall cross stitch pillow I made years ago

Clock, $20.00,  cross stitch done by me years ago

Chickens on one of my favorite fall tablecloths,  $15.00 at antique mall

Favorite pumpkins from Hobby Lobby, on sale, a couple of years ago

Yard sale brass lamp (painted) $2.00, transfer ware piece, 10cents, had a chip,  flea market clocks, $4.00 and $7.00

This is the cover to some vintage sheet music that I got from our store, $2.00, and framed

Till next time......
