Pare Down...........

I was looking around my house, trying to decide when I was going to start packing up my summer decor and start getting out my fall decorations and accessories when I realized I had a lot more collections than I thought! That made me wonder, do I have too much stuff?  Am I one of those people that has crossed the line from collections to clutter?  (My family sure thinks so!)  Should I pare down?  NOOOO!!!  Can't do it!!!  Love them all too much!  And, that's what counts, RIGHT?

Can't have enough of these! Thank goodness
I got most of mine before the prices jumped!
(And, they are all full!)

Can you ever have enough ironstone?

Just some of my jadeite collection,  have place settings for
10 along with serving bowls etc.  Collected way before
Martha.  Lucky for me!

Love sea shells and my Florida plate!

I've got a collection of state tablecloths from places that are
special to me, such as places I've lived or family lives etc.
WI, CA, AZ, just a few examples.  I change them out with the seasons.

Shell boxes and one of my favorite pictures of my children
that I took on a Florida beach when they were small.

Beachy decor is the best!

Boxes always come in handy!

How many picnics can 1 person go on,
and yes, they are full too!

Puppy planters! How can you not love those faces!

Some of my favorite dog collectilbles.

Well, there you have it, some of my favorite things! They
are me!  What are some of your favorite things to collect?

    Till later.........

Had to add this picture, she was watching me as I was

Out on the..........Porch

For the first time this summer, we are having some wonderful weather!  The temperatures have come down from the high 90's and almost as high  humidity levels to mid to high 80's and low humidity!  It may not seem like much of a drop to you, but to us here in TN, it's like night and day!  It's the kind of weather that makes me want to sit out on the porch, with a tall frosted glass of iced tea and just enjoy life in general!  I could live on any of the fabulous porches below!

Some are simple, some are more elaborate, but aren't they all beautiful?
As hard as it is to pick, I've got my favorite, which one is yours?
Till next time.......

The Jersey..........Boys

No, not the Jersey Shore kids or the New Jersey Housewives or Jerseylicious, have you heard of the musical play, Jersey Boys?  It's the story of the Four Seasons, a group that was popular in the 60's.

It is a big hit on Broadway and is touring the country. Wanda and I and another friend, Cheryl went on a road trip last Saturday to Louisville, KY to see it, and let me tell you, the 3 hour car ride was definitely worth it!  For those of you who haven't heard, it's about Frankie Valli and the 4 Seasons, a well known group from the 60's.  Their big hits were Sherry, Big Girls Don't Cry, and Oh, What a Night,  just to name a few.  The story of how the group was started and what has become of them was told between all the great songs.  The actors were wonderful and their voices were amazing!
Some interesting facts about the group that I didn't know that you might find interesting are:
1. Frankie Valli was only 15 when he joined the group.
2.  Bob Guadio was the last to join the group and was
17 at the time.  When he was 15, he had already
written the smash hit, Short Shorts. (Hope
some of you are old enough to remember that!)
He went on to write most of the hit songs for the
group.
3. Bob Guadio got the idea for the song "Big Girls Don't
Cry" while watching a cowboy movie starring John
Payne. There was a scene where he slapped the
leading lady across the face and she looked at him
and said, (of course,) big girls don't cry!
4. Bob and Frankie's partnership started and ended on a
handshake.  Bob and his wife have lived in Nashville
for many years.
For all of us, it brought back a lot of those fun, innocent times of our teenage years!  If you get a chance to see it, I'm sure you will love it as much as we did!

Group names, left to right: Nick Massi played by Steve Gouvela, Frankie Valli played by John Micheal Dias, (Cheryl's favorite,)  Bob Guadio, played by Ryan Jesse, (my favorite,) and Tommy
Devito, the bad  boy of the group, (Wanda's favorite,) played by Matt Bailey.
Till next time........

P.S. Have to tell you this,  on the way to Ky, saw the funniest thing!  In a pasture along side the interstate, a man was putting up a sign that said,  Used Cows for Sale!  What exactly is a used cow?
Does anyone know?  We, (or, maybe just me,) thought it was hysterical!
